Ochlarium is an artwork painted in one of those crazy days of the series of art workshops I’ve done in Rhodes island. During summer’22 I arrived with my bicycle in the mountain village of Istrios. No mini market there, only a little tavern that happened to be closed, as the woman who was keeping it had to go to a doctor in another village… You get the idea.
Three teenagers came, my favourites, and…magic happened. Creativity extended the canvases, and we ended up painting our bodies and faces..colours everywhere and the painting results were amazing.. For this one, a teenager named it Ochlarium. The name just came to him.
It changed so many forms, till it landed on this one. I believe, that moving, joyful energy of change is depicted on this one.
The materials used are acrylic paint on cartolino.
The item is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, signed by me.

Here in this video I made using my personal video recordings, you can get a little taste from that project:
The project NOA was about painting circles in nature, one circle in every village of the island I was born and I grew up, Rhodes. It took me 2 and a half months to complete, as I was cycling with my bicycle from one village to the next, offering art workshops to the locals of all ages.
All of the 44 artworks, along with the video and the materials and tools used in the workshops, were exhibited in an art show in the historical building of the French Consultant on Rhodes, Greece, in August 2022.
